Alpha Diamonds are identical to mined diamonds sharing the same physical, chemical and optical properties as their natural counterparts. Materials such as moissanite, cubic zirconia (CZ), white sapphire, YAG, etc., are simulants that simply attempt to “look” like diamonds/
Diamond type is a method of scientifically classifying diamonds, both grown and mined, by the level and type of their chemical impurities. Type IIa diamonds comprise less than 2% of all mined diamonds. Type IIa diamonds are almost or entirely devoid of impurities. Alpha Grown Diamonds are classified as type IIa which is considered the purest form of diamond known to exist. Many large, famous diamonds, such as the Cullinan and Koh-i-Noor, are type IIa. A renowned example is the “Elizabeth Taylor Diamond,” formerly known as the “Krupp Diamond,” a 33.19-carat type IIa diamond.
Like the most exotic orchid found in nature, the orchidlovingly grown in a greenhouse is equally rare andbeautiful. The same is true for Pure Grown Diamonds. Similar to the greenhouse, the grown diamond processreplicates what occurs naturally, creating a rare, beautiful and sustainable diamond
Grown diamond technology recreates the conditionsnecessary to grow a diamond crystal above the Earth’ssurface. Alpha Grown Diamonds are cultivated utilizing two gem-quality diamond growing processes: High Pressure-High Temperature (HPHT) and Chemical VaporDeposition (CVD). In both instances a small carbon seed is placed in a tightly controlled environment where the rough diamond grows, atom-by-atom, layer-by-layer, duplicating the natural process.
Alpha Diamonds offers both white and fancy colors; perfect for those who seek a truly beautiful and socially responsible diamond of the highest quality, purity and rarity. There are many reasons to consider a grown diamond as an alternative to a mined diamond. As massive diamond mining operations are not in line with increasing consumer consciousness, we are proud to offer diamonds grown in a controlled environment. With a smaller carbon footprint and minimal environmental impact compared to mining; Pure Grown Diamonds are a responsible choice for eco-conscious consumers.
Those who aspire to make socially responsible purchasing decisions have concerns regarding “conflict” diamonds. Alpha Diamonds are fully disclosed as lab-grown with a guaranteed origin. Alpha diamonds are designed to be affordable without giving up quality or beauty. Although they are lab-grown, they are diamonds, held to the same grading standards and supply chain as mined diamonds. Alpha diamonds go through the same cutting process which includes analyzing the rough, polishing, and final inspection. Once complete, they are distributed to wholesalers, jewelry manufacturers and retailers. Consequently, grown diamonds are subject to many of the same factors that affect the prices of mined diamonds.
Alpha Diamonds are graded to the same specifications as mined diamonds and are accompanied by grading reports from independent laboratories such as the International Gemological Institute (IGI) and the Gem Certification & Assurance Lab (GCAL).
These certificates are identical to mined diamondcertificates including grading of the 4C’s and full disclosure of the grown diamond’s origin.
Laboratory grown diamonds are man-made, but feature the same optical and physical properties as natural diamonds including chemical composition, refractive index and 4C’s. The only difference is origin; one is cultivated above ground, the other is extracted from the ground.
Alpha Diamonds are certified by an independent third party. Every one of our diamonds one quarter (1/4) carat and larger comes with a Diamond Grading Report or Certificate from IGI or GCAL. In addition to the diamond grading information, each diamond is laser-inscribed on the girdle with the words “Lab Grown” as well as the diamond’s unique certificate number; further confirming our grown diamond’s origin.
